Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Golden Jubilee of Sister M. Henrietta
First Profession of Six Novices and
Reception of Six Postulants into the Novitiate |

When
Bishop Lucas met Sister M. Henrietta before entering the
chapel he said, "Receive this candle. May it be a burning
light in your hands so that when the Divine Spouse comes,
you may meet Him and enter with Him to the nuptials. Amen." |

The
novices and postulants stand in the sanctuary to make their
petitions to enter the novitiate and make first profession
of vows in this religious community.
|
 |
 |
"The
religious habit be the garment of your salvation."
"Amen." |
 |
 |
 |
|
After
returning to the chapel, newly clothed in habits and veils,
the Sisters received the Rule and Constitutions of our
Congregation, the Breviary and their religious names. |

Sister
M. Henrietta asks to have the grace of a Jubilee and the
favor of renewing her Profession after 50 years religious
life.
"Lord Jesus Christ, here truly present in the Most Holy
Sacrament of the Altar, I give You thanks for the singular
favor by which You have led me into this holy Order. For so
many years You have guided and protected me with Your
love..." |

After
renewing her vows, Sister M. Henrietta received a golden
wreath with these words,
"May
the Lord, at the close of the race of life, crown you, not
with a perishable, but with the unfading crown of eternal
reward." |
|
The Novices proceed to make their
first profession. |

The
novices stand in the sanctuary and are questioned...
"Are you resolved to be more closely united to God by the
new bond of religious profession?" |

Each
Sister professes her vows before Bishop Lucas and into the
hands of Reverend Mother Margaretha Maria. |

A
Congratulations hug from Reverend Mother. |

"Receive this veil as a sign of that wondrous marriage
between the Church and Christ, her only Spouse, which should
be made visible in your life." |

Joining
the choir in song as they return from donning their new
black veils. |

"Wear this crucifix and walk with the Church like a pilgrim
in a foreign land..." |
 |
 |
|
"...pressing forward amid the persecutions of this world and
the consolations of God." |
 |

"We
beg You, grant to these Sisters, who have consecrated
themselves to You today in this hour, the grace to
appreciate ever more deeply their vocation and to live it in
fidelity." |

The
final blessing from Bishop George Lucas. |
