“According to the admonition of St. Francis, we
should show
respect, reverence, and gratitude to all priests
as servants of the mysteries of God.”
From our Constitutions, 314

An important part of the Franciscan spirit
is to show great respect for the
priesthood. To show our gratitude for all
the help our Community receives from bishops
and priests in the United States, in 1987,
our Sisters began to staff Bonacum House,
the home for retired priests in the Diocese
of Lincoln. |

In 1989, Maria Regina Home for Retired
Priests opened and our Sisters began to
serve the priests in the Metuchen Diocese in
Somerset, New Jersey.
We also care for retired priests at the
Mother of Good Counsel Home in St. Louis,
Missouri. |

In 2006 one of our Sisters began as a Visiting Nurse
for the retired priests of the Diocese of
Springfield, Illinois. |
