“Teach the children that there is no heaven for the poor alone and for the rich alone but poor and rich are together in heaven.”

Mother M. Anselma

From the time of the founding of our Community by Mother M. Anselma, the education of children has been an important service through which we make Christ's merciful Love visible.

Our teaching apostolate began in 1979, when the Sisters began serving parish schools in Alton.  Currently we teach in the following locations.

In 1986, our Sisters began teaching at St. Catherine’s Grade School in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In 1987, Sacred Heart Convent was founded in South Amboy, New Jersey and our Sisters began teaching at Cardinal McCarrick High School.

In 1988 our Sisters began teaching at St. Mary’s Grade School in Alton, Illinois.

Also in 1988 one of our Sisters began teaching at the Franciscan University of Steubenville until 1994.  Another Sister began teaching there in 1999 and is presently on the University faculty.

In 1991 our Province spread to the Diocese of Peoria, Illinois.  We presently teach at Alleman High School in Rock Island, Illinois.

In 1992 we opened St. Sixtus Convent in Hastings, Nebraska. Our Sisters work in the Hastings Catholic Schools.  We teach and work in administration at St. Michael’s Grade School, and teach at St. Cecilia’s Middle School and High School.

In 1995 our Sisters began teaching at St. Matthew’s Grade School in Champaign, Illinois.

In 1998 our Sisters began teaching at St. Alban Roe Grade School in Wildwood, Missouri.

In 2000 our Sisters began teaching at Aquinas High School in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

In 2005 our Sisters began teaching at St. James Academy in Kansas City, Kansas.
